""I got involved with Dog Rescue when I had to rescue Chesapeake Bay Retrievers from a fellow breeder.
It wasn't something I had planned on doing full time, but after seeing how many ""Chessies"" were being dumped in shelters, and not enough experienced foster homes available, I knew I couldn't ignore these unwanted souls. Many Rescue groups will not take a dog in with a noted history of aggression. I on the other hand feel that there are reasons for this behavior, and am willing to give these dogs a second chance. Many of the dogs I have taken in are just looking for ""Love"". They were great as pups but the novelty has worn off. And when they start acting like typical teenagers, It's easier to dispose of them, then to take the time and teach them respect.
The dogs that come into ""Ditzy Day"" are given time to adjust to their new environment. They are then brought up to date on all their vaccines, and spayed or neutered if needed. What ever bad habits they may have arrived with ,I make sure they are corrected and some basic training is given. I try and place the dogs in homes that are suitable to their personality's.
I also don't dump dogs on anyone. I try to find the right home for each dog, but sometimes things just don't click no matter how hard they try. I want every person that adopts a rescue to be happy that the did. I especially want the dogs to be HAPPY ! I'll always have another rescue that will click. Sometimes dogs are here for months waiting for the right home.""

At this time I don't have any dogs in my rescue, due to getting a new building up for the dogs. I do have many folks wanting to place dogs, and many other rescues are over filled, so if you are interested please drop me a note and also contact the other rescue groups located on my link page.

""Breeders""- sell their pups on limited registrations,stay on as co-owner of show puppies until new owner has the dog titled, and if the new owner going to breed their dog,make sure they also sell on limited registrations.
""Public"" - avoid buying your puppy from a pet shop. Buy from a reputable breeder that stands behind their dogs.
""Dog Owners""- If your pet isn't spayed or neutered yet, then get it done. Even if you never plan on breeding your pet, have them fixed- they'll be a lot healthier in the years to come. If you don't believe me ask your vet!
